Should students wear uniforms in school everyday?

In my opinion, students shouldn’t be forced to wear school uniforms everyday. Since this rule destroys students’ creativities, imaginations and freedom.
As a high school student studying in the US, wearing school uniforms everyday annoys me everyday. Compare with school uniforms, my own clothes are more comfortable and suitable. In addition, wearing our own clothes to school is a way to express what kind of person we are. People can know a person better from his dressing style. What’s more, students would easily get bored as they wearing the same clothes everyday. This might be one of the reasons of why students don't like to go to school.
For some logical reasons, some students can’t afford the uniform fees since they are really expensive. (35 dollars per one t-shirt/ 60 dollars per one jacket.) When winter comes, one jacket is always not enough for some students. (Such as me) But school doesn’t allow students to wear their own clothes, this cause a serious issue: warm keeping. I think if the school wants to make everyone looks equal, it is a good way to make everyone wearing school uniform everyday. However, in my opinion, health is more important than unify. Additionally, the quality of our school uniforms would become worse after washing them.
In conclusion, wearing school uniforms affects students’ mood to go to school, students’ feeling of school and students’ health. Therefore, I strongly recommended canceling the rule of wearing school uniforms everyday.

Talking to the moon

'Talking to the moon' is a song sang by Bruno Mars. It basically talks about how a man missing his wife/girlfriend. It is a slow song and belongs to pop music.
This song makes me feel sad because of its lyrics and melody. But the reason I like this song is also because of its lyric and melody.
Once I felt depressed or unhappy, I would listen to this song. I like the way Bruno Mars sings, which makes me easily feel the emotion he was trying to express. Depressing, missing and loving, those are the things I can feel from the song. I like all the lyrics in this song, but if I have to choose one, I would pick “In hopes you’re on the other side, talking to me too”. I almost cry when I first listen to this song. It’s hard to describe how I really feel when I listen to this song. It feels like… it will remind you a lot of things in the past, and your heart will start bleeding.
”At night when the stars light up my room, I sit by myself. ” This sentence shows the man’s deep affection of the girl. “ I want you back.” This sentence repeats a lot of times in this song. With Bruno’s hoarse voice, it sounds even more sadly. The last sentence” or am I a fool, who sits alone, talking to the moon.” leaves us endless imagine and thoughts.

Earth Without People Reaction Paper

The article Earth Without People basically tells us about what would happen if people in the earth disappeared one day. To my surprised, from the hypothesis listed in the article, the final result of the earth is that it will eventually become the way it used to be.
The author uses a lot of examples, hypothesis and imageries to prove the point that the earth will start over after human being disappear. For the imageries, “Touching down so lightly that they detonated no land mines” is the sense of touching. It shows how sensitive the mines are. When readers started to read this sentence, readers would imagine how sensitive the mines are. The author also uses the sense of sight. Such as :”the world would mostly look as it did before humanity came along-like a wilderness.” From this sentence, readers can easily image the view that how the earth becomes after human being disappear. The sense of smell also are using in the article. “Wherever foundations failed and buildings tumbled, lime from crushed concrete would raise soil pH. ” When the readers read this sentence, readers would probably get a sense of acid smell.
The author uses lots of imageries to describe different situations happen when people disappear in the earth. Therefore, people can understand the article easier with those examples and imageries, which I thought is really good for readers to read.

College Essay

My parents are both very business oriented, which makes them very outgoing. I on the other hand, am very shy and keep to myself. In order to overcome my shyness, my father decided I should continue my studies abroad in the United States. Considering the difficulty and pressure in China, I agreed with my father and decided to come study in America.
In 2011, I attended Lake Mary Prep School for my junior year. This was my first experience traveling abroad alone. I experienced a variety of emotions including excitement, anxiety, and stress, but also a great deal of joy. To my surprise, I was able to understand my school work and able to keep up with my classes without the use of a translator. I was proud of myself for accomplishing this because it is hard work for a new international student.
While I am excited that I have overcome my fear of traveling alone and studying in a foreign country, I still have difficulty speaking with people and stepping out of my comfort zone of being shy.
After one year of studying, I was chosen to participate in a Meritas summer camp held at Oxford University because of my good grades. I was one of only three international students selected by LMP to participate in this program. I was extremely honored and surprised have been chosen.
I am truly enjoying my experience at LMP. I am a straight A student; I am a member of the basketball team, bowling club, math club, and the leader of global society. However, even with my accomplishment and activity involvement I am still very bashful and have difficulty in engaging others in conversation. However, I’m getting better at it by talking to new people that in the past, I would not have interacted with.
While studying in Oxford for two weeks, I was finally able to overcome my fear, making it one of the best experiences of my life. Two weeks may seem like a short period of time, but its impact will last a lifetime. The friendships I formed in Oxford have given me the confidence to become more outgoing, allowing me to move beyond my bashfulness. I continue to carry that confidence as I meet and speak different people. As a result, my interactions with others are not limited to just “hi” and “bye”.  I discovered a whole new side of myself that I never knew existed. In only two weeks, I traveled to a new place, made new friends, and discovered a new me.
Though this experience, I have changed my perspective and approach to life. I no longer hope to go unnoticed. I embrace every opportunity to build relationships and make great memories.
I expect my final year of high school to be the best and look forward to what this year has to offer.
